Havening Techniques®: Does it really work for low self-esteem?
The short answer is: Yes, it does. Havening Techniques® is quick, easy, scientifically proven and powerful.
WHAT IS IT?
Havening Techniques® is a therapeutic modal that assists people to remove the negative effects of negative life events & memories - you still remember the events, however, the negative emotions and beliefs attached to those events are no longer there. Using Havening Techniques®, you could develop healthy self-esteem - a sense of self-efficacy (I can) and self-respect (I am worthy).
The approach is based on the ever-unfolding breakthroughs of neuroscience and was developed by Dr Ronald A. Ruden M.D., Ph.D and his brother Steven J. Ruden D.D.S., ICF/ACC.
HOW DOES HAVENING WORK?
Havening Techniques® is a powerful psycho-sensory approach involving specific & gentle touch and guidance. The technique uses the application of gentle touch to the hands, arms and face, which can be either applied by yourself or me. Havening is believed to remove the negative life memory, negative emotions and body sensations permanently. This means even when you deal with a particular trigger that is connected to the negative life event, there is no excessive emotional response - it is no longer an emotionally charged memory, it is just a memory. This approach is remarkably different to traditional talk therapy and our clients have often been amazed by the transformative experience.
Negative life events contribute to the development of our self-esteem in a negative way - we end up feeling worthless and incapable. Having negative past life events addressed, you could become more resilient, confident and content.
This approach also decreases your cortisol level - the stress hormone - and increase serotonin level - the happy hormone. Therefore, the Havening Techniques® could decrease your stress level and take you into a deeply calm state - like “walking on clouds”.
