EMDR Therapy

Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) is an 8-phase model of treatment that was originally developed by Dr Sharpiro in the late 1980s to alleviate the distress associated with negative life events.

Today, EMDR Therapy has evolved into a highly effectively treatment for many mental health conditions -

  • Anxiety & Fears & Phobias

  • Stress

  • Depression

  • Low self-worth or esteem

  • Lack of confidence

  • Trauma (school bully, car accidents, and toxic workplace)

I have completed EMDR accredited training (level 1 & 2) and offer short-term EMDR sessions (6-10 sessions) to help you address a traumatic or a negative life event.

  • Step 1: Contact me! I’m happy to help with any questions about my service.

(You don’t need a GP referral to see me, however if you wish to receive Medicare rebate, you will need to get a Mental Health Care Plan from your GP first)

  • Step 2: The first 1-2 sessions, I use EMDR Therapy Target Sequencing Plan to locate the target memory and teach you coping strategies such as Calm Place and Havening Techniques®.

  • Step 3: The next 3 to 7 sessions I use EMDR Therapy Standard Protocol or Recent - Traumatic Episode Protocol (R - TEP) to help you process the target memory.

  • Step 4: Consolidation session and completion.

Please note: This approach is the best suited for a single incident.
